So here are a few bits of information that may set your mind at ease about this last minute substitution. - He was born in Riverside Township, New Jersey in 1967. - His family is of Italian ancestry and he holds a dual American/Italian citizenship. - At the age of 10, he began creating stop motion animation with soundtracks in the basement of his home. - After graduating high school, he attended both the School of Visual Arts and the Juilliard School in New York city. - He completed an internship at Universal Pictures during college, and was hired by the company immediately after graduation. - Relocating to Los Angeles while working for Disney, he began studying music at UCLA.

- He is credited for more than a dozen professional awards for his work in the Television, Film, and Video Game industries. - Giacchino has done extensive work in scoring video games for both Sega and Nintendo. Notable titles include several from the “Medal of Honor” series, Dreamwork’s video game adaptation of “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”, and more. - His work in television began in 2001 during a creative assignment with JJ Abrams composing the soundtracks for the “Alias” series. In 2004, he collaborated with Abrams once again for musical scores on the “Lost” series. - He break in the film industry came after being hired by Director Brad Bird to oversee the score for Pixar’s “The Incredibles”. He received two Grammy nominations for this work. - He has done major soundtrack work for other films including, “Mission Impossible”, “Jurassic World”, “Super 8”, “Cloverfield”, “Planet of the Apes”, and more. He is on board to complete the score for Marvel’s 2016 release of “Doctor Strange”. - Giacchino acted in the role of First Order Stormtrooper FN-3181 in the 2015 release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
